The Non-Governmental Organization Coordinating Council NGOCC has called on government to outline a clear road map for holding of the national referendum to adopt the expanded bill of rights.

NGOCC Board Chairperson, Mary Mulenga says the adoption of the bill of rights will guarantee the protection of women’s rights as well as economic, cultural and social rights.

The referendum was included in the 2016 general elections but it was clearly rejected by  majority Zambians due to  lack of understanding.

And Ms Mulenga has appealed to president Lungu to consider building consensus in the constitution making process so that the grassroots have the final say on what should be contained in the document.
