Political violence will compromise Zambia’s internal security – Zitukule
Zitukule Consortium Executive Director Nicholas Phiri the impunity and arrogance with which political party carders are engaging in political violence has the potential to compromise Zambia’s internal security and stability.
Mr. Phiri says his organization is saddened by the continued incidences of political violence which in some cases has resulted into loss of life while the Zambia Police Service still fails to carry out their mandate of maintaining law and order and protecting life.
Mr. Phiri says the police has not carried out its mandate in accordance with the constitutional provisions calling on President Edgar Lungu to relive Inspector General of Police Mr. Kakoma Kanganja of his duties.
He alleges that the Police under Mr. Kanganja has not only failed to carry out its constitutional mandate but has also exhibited high levels of unprofessional conduct and incompetence.
