Energy Minister Mathew Nkhuwa has assured that the country will not be hit by load shedding this year, despite the minimal 130MW deficit in electricity.

Mr. Nkhuwa says the 130 megawatts deficit is manageable compared to what the country experienced in 2015 which was 900MW deficit.

The minister says a number of projects are being constructed and will be on board soon.

He also says that the Kafue Gorge and Itezi Tezhi power stations will increase generation to cover the 130 megawatts deficit.
