UPND no longer necessary – Edward Mumbi
Former UPND Presidential Spokesperson for Special Duties Edward Mumbi says UPND’s loss in Kafue yesterday indicates that people are realising that party is no longer necessary for service and becoming unpopular.
Mr. Mumbi has told Millennium Radio that people think the UPND is no longer necessary because it has become more of a personal journey because the suspension of Thomas Zulu from the party for performing official duties was not necessary.
The Kafue Council Chairperson by election was necessitated following the resignation of then council chair Thomas Zulu who joined the PF after he was suspended from the UPND for attending a function officiated by President Edgar Lungu.
But Mr. Mumbi who is also a Good Governance Activist says the suspension of Mr. Zulu from the UPND was tribal which people have realized and have decided not to vote for opposition political party.
And Mr. Mumbi has blamed the violence the characterized yesterday’s elections on the UPND whom he accuses of ferrying cadres into areas they consider as being their strong holds.
